Albin Myers & F.O.O.L – The Bastards Have Landed (Original Mix) [Preview]

428250_10151412295690295_1348253408_nAlbin Myers A.K.A the king of wobble, along with F.O.O.L (Fuck Our Ordinary Lives) have teamed up to create this monster of a track entitled, “The Bastards Have Landed”. The single was first debuted at India’s premiere Music Festival, Sunburn in 2012, and hasn’t really created much of a stir until now. The collaboration packs more of a punch than Myer’s typical original productions and is slightly more flavorful. The beat of the buildup is somewhat similar to Plastik Funk’s who, and the massive drop is unlike anything we have heard from any electro artist in the past. Great collaboration, check back for a release date.

Zeds Dead – Hot Sauce EP [Release]

Zeds Dead has come a long way the past few years and their hard work has finally paid off. The new “Hot Sauce EP” is jam packed with heavy hitting bangers.

“From the opener, “Demons”, a nightmare inducing track with heavy, pulsating synths as well as keys and strings plucked straight from classic horror films to “Mr. Sub”, which displays a more minimalist approach from the duo with a bouncing bass and touches of space-disco synths and “Rave” a breakbeat monster that hits so fast they put in an audible breaths to remind listeners to take one themselves. This no hold barred approach to electronic music has posed Zeds Dead as one to keepan eye on in the year ahead.”

Make sure to listen to every one of these tunes and grab the Hot Sauce EP album on iTunes. Enjoy!

Sharam @ Marquee New York 1.24.13 [Review]

72391_139975012828648_1786170924_nAfter having their grand opening only a week and a half ago, Marquee has already successfully established its return in the New York nightlife scene. It’s only been open for a short amount of time and their turntables have already seen the likes of DJ Vice, Dubfire, Chuckie, Sharam, and are scheduled to host Gareth Emery and more! It looks like most of the newer venues in NYC are putting their focus on the music and production aspect of nightlife and it definitely seems to be working.

Sidney Samson – Get Low (Kennedy Jones Trap Remix) [Release]

Any fan of trap is well quite familiar with our boy Kennedy Jones. After releasing a killer trap remix to “Suavemente” via Borgore’s Buygore All-Stars EP, KJ is back with another massive tune. This time its to Sidney Samson’s “Get Low.” With two killer drops, this one is a no brainer for any fan of the genre. Check out his Facebook page for this free download and enjoy!

John Dahlback – Pressure [Release]

One of my personal favorite producers is back with a new tune via Spinnin Records. Dahlback delivers a signature electro bomb using his vintage heavy hitting synths and wobbles. “Pressure” only adds to the rest of John Dahlbacks impressive repertoire. The creativity in his music has got him this far and he will only continue to grow in the coming year. Grab “Pressure” on BeatPort and turn up your speakers for this tune!

Pressure (Original Mix) – John Dahlback

Ilan Bluestone – Sinai (Original Mix) [Release]

url-1This new tune coming off of Anjunabeats, is an original production from edm newcomer, Ilan Bluestone. Bluestone is a producer based out of London who’s recent work has seen an  immense amount of support from artists such as Above & Beyond. His work on this track is a very unique breed of trance with a little bit of ethnic/Mediterranean flavor and just the right amount of kick. Love this track, let me know what you think.

Daft Punk leaves EMI for Sony’s Columbia Records [News]

The infamous duo hailing from France known none other than Daft Punk is back in action! According to  Le Parisien, the two dance music legends have decided to leave Virgin / EMI (whom they have released their past three albums with) and will be making the move to Sony’s Columbia Records for the eventual release of their fourth album which will according to sources be out in 2013. Columbia Records has really established themselves as a dance music empire coming off of signing Depeche Mode as well last week.

I wouldn’t be banking on a Spring release date for Daft Punk’s 4th album but now we know for sure that production is underway and things are starting to come together and fans couldn’t be more excited as we have been dreaming for some new material from the duo. In the meantime, enjoy this throwback essential mix as we anticipate a massive upcoming year for Daft Punk.

Felix Cartal & Autoerotique – The Alarm [Release]

Felix Cartal and Autoerotique have joined forces to deliver a big room banger in “The Alarm.” This title tells you everything you need to know about the track as it begins with a raid alarm and eventually turns into a massive array of Felix and Autoerotique’s signature banging sounds. Grab it on BeatPort via Dim Mak Records and turn your speakers up!

Passion Pit – Carried Away (Tiesto Remix) [Release]

As we all know superstar DJ/Producer Tiesto loves making his own adjustments to songs of all genres and styles. The dutch musical genius has experience fine tuning and adjusted from Kanye West’s “Lost In The World” all the way to Coldplay’s “Paradise” and everything in between, so his latest remix comes as no surprise to his fans. This remix of Passion Pit’s “Carried Away” is a lot more simple than his typical remixes, a mellow progressive single that really accentuates  the vocals of the original track.

Andrew Bayer – Nexus 6 [Throwback of the Week] vol.20

The latest installment of our throwback of the week go to an absolute stunner from Andrew Bayer. Nexus 6 is about a year old but still never loses its hypnotizing allure. Andrew has already had quite a diverse career already touching on everything from  glitch-hop and leftfield electronica to swirling melodic techno and warped electro and trance. Nexus 6 just sums it all up and is the perfect track to capture the musical essence of the talented Bayer. Turn up your speakers and enjoy.

Dillon Francis @ Webster Hall 1.19.13 [Review]

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to catch Dillon Francis perform at his “favorite venue” in NYC at Webster Hall. Dillon and his fans had a blast the last time he checked in, so it wasn’t hard to anticipate another wild night at Webster for the king of Moombah. A majority of the knowledgable fans in attendance made sure to arrive early as miami based production duo known as GTA was set to open. You can expect to hear way more tunes from Dillon as he will be spending the next 2 months in the studio working on his new album.

Radiohead – Everything In It’s Right Place (David Dann Remode) [Release]

Native Los Angeles DJ/Producer David Dann is back with his latest remode of Radiohead’s “Everything In It’s Place”. I really appreciate Dann’s ability to preserve the feeling of the original track while incorporating all  of his  very unique adjustments, the kid never ceases to impress. This song portrays Dann’s  growth as a producer quite perfectly, with so many subtle details and alterations David Dann’s capability is evident.

Zedd @ FINALE NYC 1.17.13 [Review]

Finale Zedd 1.18.13 018

As soon as word got out that Zedd would be in NYC’s newest nightlife venue FINALE, I obviously jumped at the chance to him at the Lower East Side latest hot spot this past Thursday, January 17th. Zedd has been on a roll lately having just released his latest album “Clarity” a few months back, and just debuted his new music video last week for the track “Clarity” featuring Foxes. It has been quite a year for Anton as he continues to rise in the ranks of producing and a debut at FINALE spells a big 2013 for Zedd.

Lazy Rich – Brainfreeze (Original Mix) [Release]

Lazy Rich, arguably one of the better electro producers in the game to date, is back with another massive head banger. Rich has always been a personal favorite of mine, as his style of production is always expanding and extremely tasteful for you critical edm fans. Brainfeeze has received a lot of love from artists such as Diplo, Moguai, and Thomas Gold amongst others. The build up is somewhat comparable to that of  a Tommy Trash single, but the amount of bass in the drop is what gives this electro track that extra kick. The track is being released off of Doorn records… Enjoy!

Arno Cost – Head Up [Release]

For its 2013 debut, Size Records has released a massive tune from the frenchman known as Arno Cost. Steve Angello has helped turn Size Records into a label that people have come to associate with high quality big room bangers and “Head Up” is just that. This tune’s filthy riffs, grinding bassline, and heavy hitting drop, will help it rise the BeatPort charts and fast. Turn up your speakers for this one and enjoy.

Diplo – Holy Ship Beach 2013 [Live Set]

The notorious EDM cruise known as Holy Ship killed it a few weeks ago with massive artists like A-Trak, Diplo, Knife Party, and even a surprise from Skrillex. Diplo’s sets are always filled with top notch music and elite mixing from the genius behind Major Lazer. Next year we vow to attend Holy Ship as it has been getting some great reviews. Enjoy!

Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (Flaxo Remix) [Release]

Now I can easily say that Kendrick Lamar’s album “Good Kid, Mad City” was the #1 rap album of the year bar none, and any unjustified remixes to his near perfect tracks would be a sin. However for some reason this uniquely sounding trap remix to one of my favorite songs on the album, “Swimming Pools” seems to do it justice. Give it a listen!

Madeon – Cut, The Kid (Original Mix) [Live Preview]

Madeon, the notorious teenage EDM superstar is back with another original track! It’s not very often the young producer releases an original production but when he does, they are near always phenomenal. Possessing the musical talent he does at this age only further illustrates Madeon’s future potential in the music industry. His newest track, previewed in this video is a bit more funky and has somewhat of a disco vibe which we don’t tend to hear from the progressive devotee. I’m loving this track, stay posted for updates on the upcoming single!

Blende & Surrender! – Circus (Original Mix) [Release]

Circus is an extremely chill edm collaboration between Swedish producer Blende & Israeli house duo Surrender. There has been talk that these artists will be featured on the much talked about, soon to come Daft Punk album later this year, and after listening to this track it’s obvious as to why. The use of synth in this track is somewhat reminiscent of those used by the edm legends themselves. Curious to see if the rumors are true…

Feed Me – Death By Robot EP [Release]

Death-By-Robot-EP In today’s day and age, original productions are lacking the creativity and allure that made EDM grow as big as it is today. Feed Me is one of the few artist in the game that is constantly testing new boundries with his signature glitchy synths and powerful chords. His last release “Love is All I Got” was a testemant to how diverse he can be despite popular belief that drum & bass artists can’t seem to step outside of their comfort zone. With his new EP titled “Death By Robot,” Jon goes back to his roots and delivers some fresh new dubstep. Grab it on iTunes or Beatport today via Mau5trap.
