Despite the craziness that was Al Walser, no one can doubt that the Academy shows a ton of respect to our favorite dubstep-heavyweight known as none other than Sonny Moore (aka Skrillex), as he has already won Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica Album for “Bangarang” along with the Best Remixes / Non-Classical recording for his massive collaboration with Nero “Promises.” Another win for EDM came by the likes of Calvin Harris’ “We Found Love” for Best Short-Form Music Video.
This year is the second straight that Skrill has swept his categories. For fans that have been following Sonny before his popularity boom, all of this sort of seems surreal. Skrillex has astonishingly taken the “EDM” industry by storm and he shows no signs of slowing down. Lee Anderson, Tim Smith, Dave Rene, and Alvin Risk, were amongst the crew that joined the stage for his acceptance as he graciously thanked them and closed by stating that “We’re a big community, we support a forward thinking attitude.” There is no doubt that Sonny is in line for a massive 2013 as he is fresh off the heals of the new “Leaving” EP and is set to perform alongside Boys Noize as the duo “Dogblood” at Ultra Music Fest 2013 this coming March.

Born and raised in NY, my love for music came naturally. I am currently a student and work part time as an associate for a commercial realty investment firm. Wether it be house, hip-hop, rock or alternative, I have always appreciated all genres/facets of music production and mixing. I started BleedHouse in the summer of 2011 after thinking there was a serious lack of dance music outlets in the industry. Ever since, we have grown to become a household name for all music lovers alike and I hope we can continue to lighten up every viewers day with some quality beats.
