Following arguably two of the biggest weekends of his career at Ultra and Coachella 2014 in the past few weekends, Dillon Francis continues to ride his success teasing a brand new remix to Chromeo’s ‘Jealous’. We have been hearing this Dillon product in his sets mixed with all new bangers set to be released on his coming album, and we simply cannot get enough. Keep an eye out for yet another massive summer for the deep, moombah loving, kitten extraordinary known as none other than Dillon Francis.

Ultra set to remain in Miami through 2018 [News]

This week, Miami Comissioner Marc Sarnoff and Mayor Thomas Regalado filed a “Resolution” to ban Ultra Music Festival from Bayfront Park, and made a video compiling the “worst of ultra” with clips of gatecrashers and fights, among other disturbing images. Sarnoff told CBS Miami, “The money that Ultra is spending is nothing more than blood money.” Clearly, Sarnoff and Mayor Regalado have a burning desire to get rid of Ultra, and eliminate any affiliation it has with the city of Miami.

Well, today you can all take a very deep breath, as Sarnoff and Regalado have withdrawn their “Resolution”. The overwhelming support from the Greater Miami and Beaches Hotel Association, Downtown Miami businesses and residents, and, of course, the rallying cry from Ultra fans all around the world have all contributed to this result. This will be an ongoing battle, as Sarnoff and Regalado have requested this issue to be “discussed” by the Miami City Commission on April 24th at 10AM.

While this may only seem to be a temporary victory, UMF will continue to have a home in Miami, as Ultra Organizers have an agreement with Bayfront Park to have the festival there through 2018 with the approval and consent of the Miami City Commission. Keep making your voices heard Ultranauts!

Bastille – Pompeii (Audien Remix) [Release]

One of our favorite rising stars in Audien is back again with another fresh remix. After a busy MMW where he played 8 gigs in 6 days, including Ultra Music Festival and No Sugar Added at Nikki Beach, Mr. Rathburn will continue to be in the spotlight with this release. Nate’s progressive trance sound is not growing old on us in the slightest bit, and again he works his magic on ‘Pompeii’. He makes sure to keep the moving vocals of Bastille fully in tact, a trait about Audien we cannot help but love. While we’ve been bumping this edit since January, the full release is finally available on beatport now!

Lollapalooza 2014 Lineup Revealed [News]

The famed festival held in the heart of Chicago known as Lollapalooza is one of the US’s most popular music festivals year in and out. What started out solely as a rock music festival, has turned into one of the more diverse music events in the country now covering rap, alternative, and electronic music. The electronic side has grown the most in recent years, with more acts, and the addition of a dance music stage just a couple of years ago. Last year saw the talent of Steve Angello, Knife Party, Steve Aoki, Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, and Dada Life. While those were not all of the electronic acts last year, there’s even more in store for this year.

Accompanying headliners Eminem, Outkast, and Kings of Leon will be two other big names: Skrillex and Calvin Harris. Additionally, Above & Beyond, Krewella, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Zedd round out the top dance music names. Additional acts include Flosstradamus, Gramatik, Chromeo, Darkside, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Gesaffelstein, Flume, Martin Garrix, and Duke Dumont. Talk about variety, what more can you ask for?

Upon this massive lineup announcement, 3-day GA tickets sold out, and all of the single day passes were gone shortly after. While we are unsure of another ticket sale at a higher price level, you may already be making plans to get your hands on a Lolla wristband in any way, shape or form. You can see the full lineup after the break below. Hope to see you there!

Armin van Buuren – Ping Pong [Release]

Armin van Buuren certainly rode into this year’s WMC on a high with a bunch of ASOT 650 stops on the way. At one of these events, Armin previewed a brand new track ‘Ping Pong’, and with it came the release of large white balls surfing the crowd during his performance. The hype surrounding this track kept building with each live play, and now fans all around the world can experience this song in its true form. A central beat that actually sounds like the hit of ping pong ball, this tune is a staple of Armin’s sets of late, and will continue to hold its ground as the Trance King makes some big noise in Miami this weekend. He kicks off this weekend today playing his “Armin and Friends” Surfcomber Hotel pool party. He will then have two Ultra performances this weekend; taking the Main Stage on Saturday as AVB, and then A State of Trance on Sunday as Gaia. Grab the latest Armin tune on beatport today!

Carange & Junkie Kid – Krakatoa [Release]

Perfectly aligned with the kickoff for festival season, ‘Krakatoa’ is sure to be the next main stage hit all across the globe. Teaming up for this banger is trap-master Carnage and Junkie Kid. This could be one of the hardest tracks to ever come out of Carnage’s arsenal and we are all for it. While we are fairly new to Junkie Kid, we know Carnage mostly for his trap repertorie and Chipotle antics, but there is one thing that is certain, these two are a winning combo. Released via Tiesto’s Musical Freedom records, grab this festival-anthem on beatport now and be sure to turn up your speakers for this one.

Coming off a breakout 2013, Vicetone has a major release to bring on to the scene in 2014. Protocol Recordings head Nicky Romero, has had nothing but praise for the this duo, and they will continue to attract attention to the label. ‘White Lies’. Just like Tony Romera’s ‘Pandor’ was a big WMC hit last year, we predict similar success for this tune. Another classic progressive beat from Ruben and Victor, the boys couple their sound with the lovely vocals of Chloe Angelides. It will be a busy Miami weekend for the Dutch duo, as they will spin at the Protocol Reboot Miami party Thursday, Nikki Beach’s “No Sugar Added” on Friday, and an Ultra performance on Saturday. Jack Beats – Beatbox [Release]

Gaia – Empire of Hearts [Release]

Armin van Buuren’s “Gaia” performance scheduled for this year’s UMF Miami, will be accompanied by the release of ‘Empire of Hearts’. Armin van Buuren has never failed to disappoint in any of his endeavors, and him performing under this moniker certainly has us expecting big things. ‘Empire of the Hearts’ is exactly in line with the “pure trance” role that is Gaia. The tune is headed by an intense beat, but has the classic euphoria mixed in as well. Listening to this you picture yourself enveloped in the legendary “A State of Trance” tent at Ultra, and those fortunate enough to go this year can start to envision the same. We hope to see Armin perform as Gaia at future festivals, and we’re excited to see how this performance will go. Released via Armind (Armada), go grab this trance anthem on BeatPort asap and enjoy.

Artificial – Stuck In Sa Caleta [Release]

After wowing us with their first release in ‘Prototype’, the supergroup of Andrew Bayer and Norin & Rad are back with another tune. ‘Stuck In Sa Caleta’  has been blowing up Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy podcasts as of late. Combining sounds of electro, progressive, and trance, this track is full of bass riffs and lovely melodies. This creation comes as a result of these three artists being stranded in Ibiza for three days. Mr. Bayer had some comical thoughts on the situation: “Missing your flight home from Ibiza is pretty standard, but hijacking a villa and making a tune afterwards isn’t. It was pretty tight the way it worked out.” We are certainly happy with the outcome, and we cannot wait to see what this trio has in store for us next. Grab this masterpiece on BeatPort today.

Electric Daisy Carnival New York 2014 Lineup Revealed [News]

Less than an hour after Mysteryland uncovered the blanket, the lineup for EDC New York was revealed to the public. With even bigger names this year, EDC is making all efforts to trump Electric Zoo as the top festival in the tri-state area. While the zoo has some time to recruit, let’s break down what Insomniac Events has in store for Memorial Day weekend.

There are many familiar names in this year’s group. Superstars Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, and Steve Angello continue to remain faithful since the first edition back in 2012. And while those are some heavy hitters, Insomniac went above and beyond this year stealing Tiesto, Hardwell, Boys Noize, Krewella, Tommy Trash, and Sander van Doorn from Electric Zoo. We’re not sure as to how they managed to pull this one off, but the Randall’s Island faithful are surely in shock right now. With the move back to MetLife Stadium, and all this new added talent, EDC NY is rivaling Mysteryland USA for this coming Memorial Day Weekend. And as the ticket sales start flying, it’s decision time for all of you festival-goers. What’s it going to be? EDC NY or Mysterland USA?

Something nobody else has.”
