Le Youth – Artist Spotlight
Wes James A.K.A “Le Youth” is an up and coming producer in the EDM industry, on a mission to collaborate modern house music with 90′s disco sounds. Recently the disco genre has been experiencing somewhat of a modern day revolution propelled by advocates such as Wes. His singles reflect a tasteful mix between modern music and pre-internet disco that come together in an elegant, and aesthetically pleasing blend of audio. Far from the typical electronic dance tracks we hear today, Le Youth’s “French House” singles provide an excellent combination of funk and soul that has been missing in the industry for quite some time.

Alex Metric & Jacques Lu Cont – Safe With You (Dub Mix) [Preview]
Jacques Lu Cont and Alex Metric’s newest single “Safe With You” (Dub Mix) was dropped by Annie Mac this Friday, prior to all the Daft Punk festivities on Pete Tong’s radio 1. This collaboration by the two British producers offers an alternative, and somewhat of a transition for progressive fans into the nu-dico genre. The track it self is so dynamic, with it’s powerful build up and electro qualities it still maintain’s it’s funky bass line and melodic feel. Loving this combo of producers and this track in general, dropping off of ministry of sound, check back for release date!

Deadmau5 – Satellite [Preview]
Deadmau5 teases us with a Kat Von D collabo titled “Satellite.” This is only a rough draft and the intro but from the sounds of it, we have a lot to look forward to in this next masterpiece from Joel. He begins with a energetic buildup and then switches it up with the smooth beautifully orchestrated drop. Let me know what you think and stay tuned for more as this track gets closer towards completion.

Foamo – Sherlock (Millions Like Us Remix) [Release]
The original version of “Sherlock” an upbeat track by Foamo, is not particularly to my liking, but this remix by “Millions Like Us” is a completely different story… The combination of the trap and deep genres comes together in a perfect harmony, on this Flume-like nu-disco single. The melodic bass-line and funky symphonic tones give this remix the kick it was missing on the original version. As the nu-disco genre continues to expand tracks like these will become more available to the general edm public unlike the hidden gems they are now.

A-Trak – Tuna Melt EP (The Remixes) [Release]
If A-Trak’s infamous “Tuna Melt” EP wasn’t enough for you, here are a handful of remixes/alterations that have a bit more bang than the originals. GTA, Grandtheft, Jack Beats and Les Rythmes Digitales’s edits are only some of the featured tracks on this remix ep, but we thought they were slightly superior to the rest and deserved some recognition. In addition to some banging remixes A-Trak also incorporated a second version of his trap original “Landline”. This diverse remix EP is composed wide range of genres including deep, trap, and disco edits to A-Trak’s originals.

Justin Stay – Static (Original Mix) [Release]
This remarkably fresh track is that of American producer, Justin Jay. His use of two predominantly electro sounds, static and wobble are remarkable and seem to give this track more depth, and groove. Justin Jay does an excellent job at livening up a somewhat bland deep house beat and giving it a more complex feel. Coming off of Dirty Bird Records this single is sure to make it’s way to the appropriate deep house fanatics, and underground following.

Mark Knight – Your Love [Release]
Mark Knight has decided to give Kylie Minogue’s oldie “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” a bit of a tech-house tune up. His edit of the track is simply called “Your Love”, and aside from the lyrics, everything is completely different from the original track. “Your Love” has been gaining popularity among Toolroom and tech house fans as Mark has been playing it for quite some time now. With an extremely groovy bass-line, a powerful buildup and deep melodic adjustment to the old school lyrics this song has some serious funk. The slightly trippy music video ads a lot more character to the already extremely soulful track. Loving this track, now available for purchase off of Mark Knight’s label, Toolroom Records. Enjoy!

Previously scheduled to appear at the high-profile Cipriani Sunday Series all the way back in February, Luciano’s performance was postponed to April 14th due to a blizzard in New York. His latest flyer read “Last time I couldn’t make it, but this time nothing will stop me.” Two long months and hundreds of anxious fans later, the weekend has finally arrived and it was time for Luciano to prove his legendary status at Cipriani on 42nd Street.
Frank Ocean – Lost (Amine Edge and Dance Remix) [Preview]
R and B sensation, Frank Ocean has received some attention from French deep house duo, Amine Edge and Dance who have applied their production talents to his track “Lost”. The duo’s remix adds an electronic element the song was lacking prior, with a bunch of synths and deep house chords that give the track an edgy vibe. Popular for their 2012 hit “Going To Heaven With The Goodie-Goodies” Amine and Dance seemed to have advanced their production skills from the sound of this remix. Keep an eye out for these guys, and check back for news on the release date for this remix.

Laurent Garnier – Jacques In The Box (Brodinski & Gesaffelstein’s 420 Remix) [Preview]
Laurent Garnier, a praised veteran in the world of EDM released his original track “Jacques In The Box” sometime last April, and the boys over at Bromance records decided to give it a little tune up. Although Garnier will be releasing his “Chicago Bardelo” remix on this upcoming EP aswel, Brodinski & Gesaffelstein’s collaborative remix is the track to be on the look out for. The two share a very unique relationship, while working off the same record label (Bromance), Gesaffelstien and Brodinski are able to produce their own solo tracks, and constantly play back to back performances. Not something you see very often in EDM but it seems to be working quite well for them! Definitely two of the funkiest producers in the game today, really appreciate the style of music they have been putting out recently. Give their newest remix a listen, dropping off of Ed Banger records April 1st, stay tuned!

Nora En Pure – Come With Me (EP) [Release]
This three track EP entitled “Come With Me” by Nora En Pure was released earlier this week and it’s absolutely incredible. The best of the three singles is the Nu-disco tune “Come With Me”, however all three tracks are quite stunning. Far from the usual realm of mainstream edm this track’s production, melody, rhythm and limited vocals all come together perfectly on this EP.
