Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (Flaxo Remix) [Release]
Now I can easily say that Kendrick Lamar’s album “Good Kid, Mad City” was the #1 rap album of the year bar none, and any unjustified remixes to his near perfect tracks would be a sin. However for some reason this uniquely sounding trap remix to one of my favorite songs on the album, “Swimming Pools” seems to do it justice. Give it a listen!

Artist Spotlight: GTA

“GTA” is a Miami based production duo consisting of Matthew Van Toth (Van Toth) and Julio Mejia (JWLS). While Van Toth brings the techno aspect to the duo’s productions, JWLS has the hip hop/trap influence on their tracks. These two put together have really been putting out some heavy hitting bangers and are looking to have a massive year in 2013. Here are a few of my favorite tunes from GTA and I simply cannot wait to see them live this Saturday night at Webster Hall as they are set to spin along side Dillon Francis. Let me know what you think and be sure to stay tuned for more from GTA.

2 Chainz – I’m Different (MiM0SA Remix) [Release]
Nearly every top 40 track from the past couple of weeks has received some type of EDM edit, or remix but nearly every one of them has disappointed. However, there are certain hip hop tracks that have the potential to become EDM bangers with the right reworking, this happens to be one of them…. The bass line gives these 2 Chainz lyrics just the right amount of rhythm. Loving this remix definitely does the track justice.
