DJ Fresh Vs Diplo – Earthquake [Preview]

diplo

Diplo & DJ Fresh team up to deliver a massive trap infused banger in “Earthquake”, originally debuted on GTA’s “Death To Genres Vol. 1.” Diplo seems to have developed a particular knack for trap music and has been utilizing it as of recently. This tune has some real fire power, and the Dominique Young Unique samples really accentuate the already incredible bass-line. This will be DJ Fresh’s first single of his new album and is also featured in the soundtrack for Kickass 2 this coming summer.

Foamo – Sherlock (Millions Like Us Remix) [Release]

20s8s7

The original version of “Sherlock” an upbeat track by Foamo, is not particularly to my liking, but this remix by “Millions Like Us” is a completely different story… The combination of the trap and deep genres comes together in a perfect harmony, on this Flume-like nu-disco single. The melodic bass-line and funky symphonic tones give this remix the kick it was missing on the original version. As the nu-disco genre continues to expand tracks like these will become more available to the general edm public unlike the hidden gems they are now.

A-Trak – Tuna Melt EP (The Remixes) [Release]

atrak

If A-Trak’s infamous “Tuna Melt” EP wasn’t enough for you, here are a handful of remixes/alterations that have a bit more bang than the originals. GTA, Grandtheft, Jack Beats and Les Rythmes Digitales’s edits are only some of the featured tracks on this remix ep, but we thought they were slightly superior to the rest and deserved some recognition. In addition to some banging remixes A-Trak also incorporated a second version of his trap original “Landline”. This diverse remix EP is composed wide range of genres including deep, trap, and disco edits to A-Trak’s originals.

Trap connoisseur RL Grime is back at it again with a remix to Chief Keef’s “Love Sosa”. The alteration of the beloved rap song was originally premiered when RL hosted Diplo’s radio show “Diplo & Friends” a few months back. Now we have a free download thanks to RL who decided to give it out to his fans to enjoy. The original was RL’s favorite rap tune of 2012 so this remix is only fitting. Passion Pit – Carried Away (Dillon Francis Remix) [Free Download]

artworks-000044501222-ze2mrk-t500x500This remix of Passion Pit’s “Carried Away” is a completely reconstructed, mixed and mashed “Moombahton on Acid” edit by none other than Dillon Francis. The intro to the track reflects Dillon’s signature melodic style and preserves an ounce of the original track, but quickly moves into the up-beat monster of a remix that it is. Dillon Francis’s ability to manipulate songs to his own style is extremely impressive especially with a progressive track like “Carried Away”. Theres simply no telling what track Francis will decide to remix, from Justin Timberlake’s “Suit and Tie” to Nicky Romero’s “Like Home” Dillon has his fans guessing what’s next. Enjoy this free download of Dillon’s moombah-licious track courtesy of Mr.Francis himself!

“Don’t Look Back In Angger” is Indonesian young blooded producer, Angger Dimas’s latest EP coming to us off of Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak records.  Angger has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the EDM industry, at a young age and over time has made tweaks and adjustments to his production style. However this EP is far from his usual output. ”Don’t Look Back In Anger” is comprised of a collaborative moombahton track with house veterans, Vandalism, a disco single and of course a heavy hitting electro banger. Artist Spotlight – TNGHT

TNGHT-hudmo-lunice-585DJ/Production duo TNGHT has made quite the statement in the music industry, since they first jumped on the scene during music festival SXSW last march. Made up of producers Ross Birchard A.K.A Hudson Mohawke and Lunice Fermin Pierre II, the duo dabbles in the production of rap/hip-hop influenced trap music. Known for their widely popular track “Higher Ground”, the pair has begun to expand their influence with their live performances, and new productions. Their most recent single is entitled “Acrylics” and is one of the heaviest hitting bangers i’ve heard this year. This electronic music group knows how to get their crowds bumping, and have already had the pleasure of performing alongside world famous rapper, producer Kanye West, at a venue in Brooklyn. Kanye joined them on stage to perform during their remix of his track “Cold”. This young duo is doing big things in the electronic dance music industry and for trap in particular, keep an eye out for a massive year from Hudson Mohawke and Lunice aka TNGHT.

Major Lazer – Free The Universe (Album) [Release]

Major-Lazer-free-the-universe

The Diplo-lead, Dance-hall/EDM musical group known as Major Lazer has finally released their second full length album, “Free The Universe.” If it’s one thing the reggae flavored band knows how to do, it’s to build hype. Their infamous  performances, guest appearances on talk shows, and pop up shops have done their publicity for them. So it is no surprise that “Free The Universe” has built a following on it’s own. Some tracks on the group’s album may be familiar to their fans, as they have been released throughout the course of the past year such as “Get Free”, “Jah No Partial” and “Bumaye”. While other newer singles encompass a number of collaborating artists such as GTA, Santigold, Bruno Mars, Tyga, Shaggy amongst others. “Free The Universe” is an album that caters to all musical fans, possessing tracks such as “Reach For The Stars” that are less bass heavy and more melodic, as well as more electronic singles like the What So Not Remix to ML’s their widely popular track “Get Free”. This album has lived up to it’s hype and is an absolute masterpiece to say the least, was definitely worth the wait! Make Sure to get your copy today.

Flume ft. Chet Faker – Left Alone (Ta-Ku Remix) [Release]

artworks-000045036435-odls97-t500x500One of my favorite up and coming artists, Flume, a bass heavy producer with an un-categorizable style of electronic music has been causing quite the stir in the music industry these past few months. His album caught the eyes and ears of nearly every artist in the industry, and as a result he has a long list of producers who are dying to work alongside him. This is an interesting Trap remix of his “Left Alone” by Ta-Ku. The drops on this remix will make your jaw drop, be prepared.

Sidney Samson – Chase The Trap [Preview]

72793_10151334998527218_199479748_nDutch trap?! It seems like there is no end to the amount of DJ’s hopping on the trap bandwagon but no complaints here! This time its Sidney Samson who samples The Prodigy’s “Out of Space” and mixes it into a BANGING dutch infused trap drop. Then comes another sample in Jay-Z’s “Lucifer” and the second killer drop. He dropped this one at UMF and we simply cannot wait for this to be released. More info as we get it but kudos to Sidney Samson for putting out this fresh new tune.

Carnage – UMF 2013 (DJ Set)

531710_10151816778408916_124274877_n

Ultra 15 was an absolute trap fest thanks to a handfull of individuals, including one producer who goes by the name “Carnage”. Since jumping on the scene his music has built a prestigious reputation, and seems to speak for itself. His tracks, aren’t your typical trap singles but specifically manufactured festival mixes intended to get all fans in attendance raging! Carnage has differentiated himself from all the other artists in his category by showing a true passion for the music rather than the “typical dj lifestyle”. His reluctance to release the majority of his tracks exemplifies his true artistry, and is something that has become hard to find among dj’s and producers. Many other producers have recently taken a liking to the trap star, including Tiesto who played Carnage’s original track “Bang” during one of his sets. In addition to killing the “Trapped Out” stage on weekend 2, Carnage also made a guest appearance on the main stage during fellow producer Asaf Borgore’s set and the two absolutely killed it. Definitely two of the best performances during UMF, keep an eye out for Carnage as he is sure to blow up this year.

Aluna George – Attracting Flies (Baauer Remix) [Release]

artworks-000043581179-hq15qx-t500x500

An artist that really stood out during WMC was the Harlem Shake creator, Baauer. With surprisingly fresh musical material, Baauer had his crowds at nearly every performance (club, festival, and private parties) going absolutely bananas to his sets. This song in particular stood out to me and was recently release by the young producer. His remix to Aluna George’s “Attracting Flies” is the perfect mix of tasteful catchy lyrics with a funky beat, the ideal track. Far from his infamous “Harlem Shake” this track exemplifies Baauer’s ability to differentiate himself from stereotypical house music.
