Deadmau5 teases us with a Kat Von D collabo titled “Satellite.” This is only a rough draft and the intro but from the sounds of it, we have a lot to look forward to in this next masterpiece from Joel. He begins with a energetic buildup and then switches it up with the smooth beautifully orchestrated drop. Let me know what you think and stay tuned for more as this track gets closer towards completion.

Above & Beyond – Walter White (Original Mix) [Release]

Screen Shot 2013-04-29 at 11.58.53 AM

In the picture above from their UMF Main Stage performance, you will see Jono Grant sporting a shirt that reads “Walter & Jesse & Gustavo & Meth.” This shirt is in direct support of Above & Beyond’s favorite television series “Breaking Bad”, whose main character is named Walter White. The inspiration for the song, Walter’s character experiences several different emotions. Well the tune clearly correlates, as we are first given a soft melody which ultimately breaks into an uptempo, super-dark beat. A&B played this track during both weekends of UMF, and the crowd went berserk both times. This track was released via Anjunabeats, and is now officially available on Beatport and iTunes.

David Dann & Poet ft. Golden Phoenix – Let’s Be Human Again [Release]

m_a_24f_192

Los Angeles native, and renown progressive house producer, David Dann has teamed up with artists Poet, and Golden Phoenix to create “Let’s Be Human”. The emotionally evoking trance beat is the work of David Dann, the lyrics are those of Golden Phoenix, and the single was written by none other than Poet. This collaboration is a nice step outside the typical EDM track, more melodic and romantic than your typical trance or house song. Grab it on BeatPort, turn up your speakers and enjoy.

The latest installment of our throwback of the week go to an absolute stunner from Andrew Bayer. Nexus 6 is about a year old but still never loses its hypnotizing allure. Andrew has already had quite a diverse career already touching on everything from  glitch-hop and leftfield electronica to swirling melodic techno and warped electro and trance. Nexus 6 just sums it all up and is the perfect track to capture the musical essence of the talented Bayer. Turn up your speakers and enjoy.

Calling all trance fans! Today’s post is a special treat featuring one of our favorite trance duos, Las Salinas. The two-some have presented a whopping five and a half hour “Yearmix”, one that will continually have you nodding in approval of virtually every song choice and thankful that it goes on for as long as it does. The mix is truly a journey, a rich selection of tracks from various genre’s produced by our favorite artists. What I love most about this mix is it’s unbelievable variety. From deep house, to trance, to electro- you name it, its included right here. The ability to compact this years best talent to 57 tracks and almost six hours of pure goodness is hardly an easy task. So set a couple hours aside, turn up your speakers, and prepare yourself for hours upon hours of musical genius.

Artist Spotlight: MAT ZO

If your a big fan of Trance music, Mat Zo is no stranger to you. The up and comer born in England, became more and more interested in electronic dance music at a very young age. Arty, one of Mat’s closest alliances when it comes to music has come together to give us some real works of art in their trance movement. Here are some tracks from Mat, my favorite being Bipolar. This amazing production follows the title as it begins with a relentless electro feel, it then shifts to a completely different genre as the trance begins to take over. Usually switching genres in the middle of a song isn’t such a good idea; but Mat transitions it so well that you begin to fall in love with the song. The ending goes right back to the electro banging feel hence the title: Bipolar. The next two tracks with Arty are also must downloads for you trance heads as the duo’s powerful and uplifting synths make you want to become a bigger fan of the world of trance. This past year Mat Zo finished #66 in the DJ Mag Poll and I have no doubt his stock will continue to rise as he puts out some of the best music trance has to offer.
