Arty, Matisse & Sadko – Riot [Release]

Remember the last time these guys teamed up? Trio was what sent them into the forefront of the EDM community, and now they have collaborated once again to be the talk of the town. Interestingly enough, they have simply rearranged the letters from ‘Trio’ to form ‘Riot’. In similar fashion, these artists have created a formula for a hit tune that has already received praise (and several plays) from Above & Beyond, Afrojack, and BBC Radio 1′s Danny Howard. A rather dark beat starts the song off to only lead into powerful riffs that accompany a wonderful melody. Another progressive gem built by these producers, we cannot wait to see how high this track rises. Released via Spinnin’ Records, this track is available for purchase today via Beatport.

Arty – Flashback (Original Mix) [Release]

As he continues to ride the success of this past year, Arty releases another brand new single in ‘Flashback’. Returning to the label that helped launch him onto the scene, Anjunabeats is more than happy to be home to the Russian Sensation’s latest work. Anjuna is also the label responsible for his previous hits “Around The World,” “Kate” and “Mozart.” Combining his classic progressive style with dark, tech beats, Arty serves up another gem that has become heavily popular through plays from Above & Beyond, as well as trance-mate Armin van Buuren. Fresh off his “ABGT 050″ performance, Arty will travel to North America for the second half of November, followed by a return to The MID in Chicago on Thanksgiving Eve. Grab this track now via BeatPort and let us know what you think of this dark and masterful production.

Alesso vs OneRepublic – If I Lose Myself (Alesso Remix) [Release]

alesso-vs-onerepublic-if-i-lose-myself-alesso-remix-refuneWhere in the world has Alesso been? Since “Clash” and a remix to Arty’s “When I See You” was released back in December, Sweden’s rising star has been quiet with his production as of late. Well, he finally returned to North America this past weekend playing at both days of Swedish House Mafia’s Masquerade Motel in Los Angeles, and following WMC, the “Pretty Boy” will be starting his North American Tour in April. This remix comes as no surprise, as he has a history of putting his spin on tracks with moving vocals, along with familiar progressive sounds to create a spring anthem. This is the perfect tune coming off of Alesso’s first UMF performance so be sure to catch it on BeatPort and enjoy!

Zedd feat. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Arty Remix) [PREVIEW]

Sooner or later I will post a package of every remix (and there are many) thus far to Zedd’s “Spectrum.” My favorite remix of Spectrum thus far had to be from Armin, but that all changed today. This preview to Arty’s take on the track is a testement to Arty’s diverse talent and skill. His productions and use of amazing synths, and chords capture the essence of what beautiful music is all about. Let me know what you think of this remix and stay tuned for an official release.

Arty – Open Space [RELEASE]

From the moment I first heard the powerful synths and uplifting melody of “Around The World” by none other than Arty, I was well aware that my ears had been graced with the sound of a talented producer I would be looking forward to hearing for a long time. Arty’s “new trance” sound is nothing short of beautiful, and his recent releases are proof of that. Arty’s newest release “Open Space” is a euphoric, uplifting track that further showcases Arty’s ability to make music that sounds almost hopeful, that puts a smile on our faces. Additionally, for those of you who have an ear for trance, I am including Norin & Rad and Heatbeat’s remixes of “Suddenly Summer” as bonuses. Enjoy!

These trance heads are sure to put on an epic show, so if your in Miami be sure to get tickets HERE. Above & Beyond have been killing it on tour lately and we were lucky enough to catch them at club “Necto” in Ann Arbor. You can check out the recap of that night on our Facebook Page. Arty has been putting out fire with his newest remix to “Walking Alone” and appearances at Pacha NYC + an upcoming appearance with Cazzette at Glo. But in my opinion, the DJ with the most potential from Anjunabeats has to be Mat Zo.  With his newly released diverse four-track ‘The Bipolar EP‘  , the rising star Mat Zo is embarking on his biggest tour of North America yet. His upcoming tour dates around North America include: February 24 Chicago, IL @ Sound-BarFebruary 25 San Diego, CA @ Voyeur and March 22 Miami, FL @ Bayfront Park AmphitheaterSo if you really want to see the talented Anjunabeat DJ’s, you have got to get your tickets to Group Therapy in Miami. Artist Spotlight: MAT ZO

If your a big fan of Trance music, Mat Zo is no stranger to you. The up and comer born in England, became more and more interested in electronic dance music at a very young age. Arty, one of Mat’s closest alliances when it comes to music has come together to give us some real works of art in their trance movement. Here are some tracks from Mat, my favorite being Bipolar. This amazing production follows the title as it begins with a relentless electro feel, it then shifts to a completely different genre as the trance begins to take over. Usually switching genres in the middle of a song isn’t such a good idea; but Mat transitions it so well that you begin to fall in love with the song. The ending goes right back to the electro banging feel hence the title: Bipolar. The next two tracks with Arty are also must downloads for you trance heads as the duo’s powerful and uplifting synths make you want to become a bigger fan of the world of trance. This past year Mat Zo finished #66 in the DJ Mag Poll and I have no doubt his stock will continue to rise as he puts out some of the best music trance has to offer.

I walked into Pier 94 this New Years Eve with high expectations, and am happy to say that they were definitely satisfied! The line coming in was longer than anything I had personally ever seen and the crowd was getting overly anxious. The only way you could really know how the atmosphere was like for Cazzette and Arty was if you had attended. I thought both opening sets were great as we heard some new tracks and ID’s such as Make Soome Room and Killmode, but the crowd was really starting to get rough. At one point it was almost impossible to move if you had gone up front as the pushing and shoving just got worse. Finally, the music stopped for a few seconds as Avicii took his throne, and opened his set with his famous “Levels” (shocker). I was a little bit weary about Avicii coming in, thinking that his sets are way too mainstream but at the end of the day, his music brought everyone together for a performance to go down in the history books. Tracks like Silhouettes, Fuck School, Don’t Give Up On Us, and Blessed are what makes Avicii so talented. It is his ability to make you zero in on the music over everything else.

If you had other New Years plans last night I hope you enjoyed as we look forward to a big 2012 for all of us. Relive New Years Eve and Pier 94 below with live sets, track lists, photos and videos. ENJOY!

What a weekend. Almost every DJ killed it at Electric Zoo @Randalls Island NY and bleedhouse has got you covered with a full review! Be sure to download the new live sets and check out their tracklists. My personal favorites were Afrojack, and Alesso this weekend. Who were yours? ENJOY
