Lavo NY has hosted some of the biggest dance music related events in the past week, with Tiesto performing during fashion week, and Avicii and Ralph Lauren’s ‘TRUE’ album release party. This week, we are excited to announce the return of  Benny Benassi just weeks after dazzling fans at Electric Zoo with his Main Stage East closing set (stream below). NYC is a city that Benny is quite familiar with, and what better place to get down than at Lavo? It wouldn’t be the first time the Italian Stallion put on a show at the popular hot spot, and I am sure it won’t be the last. Just one night before his prime time slot at Tomorrow World, Benassi will pay homage to the NY faithful and we are pumped. The Rolling Stones will be making their way to the Barclays Center for a rare concert this Saturday night in honor of their 50th anniversary and what better way to celebrate than with an EDM remix to one of their tracks? “Doom & Gloom” comes off of 50th anniversary greatest hits collection and the producing legend known as Benny Benassi gives it a hard signature electro twist. This track is the ultimate crossroad between two generations and fans of the Stones will love this re-work as well. Pink Is Punk & Benny Benassi – Perfect Storm [RELEASE]

Benny Benassi has been producing for as long as I can remember and some how he still never ceases to amaze me. Fresh off of his remix to Bob Marley’s “Jammin” comes Benny’s latest collaboration with Pink is Punk “Perfect Storm.” This title is very fitting for the track as it begins with an incredible throwback house intro and leads to an MASSIVE electro crazed drop. This collabo just goes to show how well Benassi knows how to kill a crowd. If you have yet to see him live you are missing out on a real show. “Perfect Storm” is now officially released via Ultra Records so be sure to catch it on BeatPort and let me know what you think of this massive electro bomb. ENJOY!!

Bob Marley & The Wailers – Jamming (Benny Benassi Remix) [RELEASE]

The Italian stallion known as none other than Benny Benassi has taken a new unique take on one of Bob Marley’s most well known tracks in “Jamming.” You got to love the collaboration of genre’s in this remix as Benny brings the classic hit back to life with some fresh electro, synths and wobbles to the king of reggae’s always soothing vocals. The reason why Benassi has grown so popular over all of his years of producing can be accredited to his creativity and this remix is just a testament to that. He also just opened his Electric Zoo 2012 set this past weekend with this killer tune. Let me know what you think and ENJOY!!

The hidden gems from Ultra Music Festival 2012

During truly great performances, we always hear the DJ’s dropping anthems, and then some ID’s that we WISH we knew. Here are some tracks that made my jaw drop during UMF 2012, that you may not be aware of. The first is Autoerotique’s remix of “House Music.” Tiesto played this remix as his final track and the crowd just couldn’t get enough! The next is Congorock’s “Monolith.” When Benny Benassi dropped this during his set, we all literally had a eargasm. This ancient style buildup combined with the powerful banging drop has all the ingredients to an ideal song one would want to hear at Ultra. The next two are more on the dubby side as heard in Knife Party’s set. Cyclus brings the heat and Face Melt goes more electro. Let me know what you think of these gems!

Benny Benassi [THROWBACK OF THE WEEK] vol.3

Whether you’ve been following house music for ten years or one, I can assume that most of you are familiar with Benny Benassi. Having produced some of the most influential songs of all time, Benassi is well respected by everyone in the EDM community. Benny is known as one of the forefathers of the genre. Unfortunately, he has seen a decrease in popularity after being criticized for creating too many similar productions, but I feel like he needs to be appreciated for what he did to basically kickstart a new generation. Here are a few classic Benassi bangers. Enjoy.

Here are some new remixes to Pitbull and Marc Anthony’s “Rain Over Me.” Although I personally think the original is wayyyy to mainstream; these remixes do it some justice. Each of the remixes has its own artists flavor to them. I would highly suggest downloading Quintino, and Benassi, and Lukes remixes. Show these to youre little brothers or sisters who are gay for the original and need some house enlightenment. ENJOY!

Preview: Hardwell – Cobra (Revealed)

Premiered at Electric Zoo 2011 this past summer, this banger by Hardwell really packs a punch, with it’s hard baseline and synth this track is a hardcore, speaker blowing, MONSTER! As Hardwell continues to produce, his style is developing and progressing as he adds a little bit more flavor to every song, personally I loved the hint of piano he threw in, it really set the song off. This banger was elected to be this year’s anthem to Energy 2011 in Europe, that says something, give it a listen!!

One Love

It has been way too long since my last post but that does not mean I haven’t been keeping up to date with all the new music that has been coming out. The Swedes are killing it but you can’t forget about our favorite Italian producer, Benny Benassi. After only 3 days of being released, Labrinth and Tinie Tempah’s new song Earthquake was remixed by Benassi. The song is a banger and you will definitely be seeing it at a festival near you,

On another note, heres a song ive been hearing at every fucking frat party this year. Its dirty dirty. Its a MUST download, ya hear.

WOW. Benny Benassi is still on his game. Just released is his new remix to Laidback Lukes “Natural Disaster,” no offense to Luke but Benassi just murdered the original. He starts out with a prog. house feel then merges it into a banger drop.  ENJOY.

Feel so Close (Benassi Remix) Preview

heres a preview to benny benassi’s remix of calving new hit “Feel So Close,” due out aug22.

I had the pleasure of meeting Benny Benassi yesterday in NYC. The italian stallion is on tour promoting his “Electroman” album. Sure he’s getting old but he’s still going hard and you got to give the man credit. This Sunday July 3rd Benny will also be performing at Governors Island along with Laidback Luke!! You wont want to miss this one; you can get your tickets HERE. You most probably know all these songs as they are pretty old but Automatic B and Good Girl are two songs off his album which are underrated and two of my favorites.  Everyone knows Afrojacks remix of Satisfactoin which Benny likes to play a lot and Sidney Samson tears up this remix as well. Enjoy!

When Genres COLLIDE

Rarely do I enjoy when artist try to combine house and hip hop. They are two different genres and it should stay that way. I am a big fan of the rap game and when I experience a rare occasion where a house song goes well with a hip hop; I must post. So here are the most recent and my most favorite remixes out there. The Beautiful People remix is my favorite as it probably is most of yours. If you haven’t heard the original you probably have been hiding under a rock for the past 2 months. Sidney kills the Give Me Everything Remix, The Chuckie bootleg jives well and the Karetus Remix brings out the dub devil in me.

Beautiful People (DallasK & Halatrax Remix) - Chris Brown & Benny Benassi

Give Me Everything (Sidney Samson RMX) - Pitbull (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer)
