Hakkasan LV & Wet Republic Announce Memorial Day Weekend Lineups [News]

hakkasan-trio With the Vegas pool party season approaching, Hakkasan Las Vegas and Wet Republic recently announced their Memorial Day lineup and it’s nothing short of incredible. After spending millions of dollars to book these elite DJ’s for residencies (including Deadmau5′s reported 20 million dollar deal), it seems like everything is finally coming together for Hakkasan LV. People across the globe travel to Sin City for this  monumental weekend to kick off their sun-filled Summers, and what better way to do so than with the best DJ’s in the world? The party kicks off on Thursday, May 23rd with Laidback Luke at Hakassan followed by R3hab and Tommy Trash at Wet Republic the next day. Talents like Tiesto, Deadmau5 and Calvin Harris are all on board as well, and the almighty fan-favorite Hardwell closes the holiday weekend on Monday the 27th at Hakkasan. Tickets for both event series go on sale Wednesday, April 24th.

Las Vegas’ summer party scene is only getting stronger as the DJ’s flock from Ibiza to the new higher end venues such as Light (by Cirque Du Soleil) and Hakkasan.  It looks like Vegas is finally right up there in terms of being the dance music capital of the world. Be sure to grab your tickets ASAP if you plan on beging in LV this summer!

Calvin Harris Ft. Florence Welch – Sweet Nothing (Diplo & Grandtheft Remix) [RELEASE]

With the ongoing spread of popularity it is almost inevitable that songs such as “Sweet Nothing” will receive a trap edit or remix in due time. This track has received an immense amount of attention these past few weeks from fans as well as artists such as Tiesto. The time has come that this single receive an adequate trap remix, and who better than the Mad Decent man himself, Diplo! He has proved time and time again that his musical talents are simply unmatched… Enjoy!

Calvin Harris & Ne-Yo – Let’s Go (Swanky Tunes & Hard Rock Sofa Remix) [RELEASE]

When Calvin Harris originally collaborated with Ne-Yo to compose their single “Let’s Go” I was excited to hear the finished product but also somewhat skeptical of the ramifications. Unfortunately the track became a way too overplayed mainstream radio single, which is a shame. However two Russian collaborative production groups who go by the names Swanky Tunes, and Hard Rock Sofa have combined to salvage what they could of this radio disaster and put together a completely different sounding remix of it. Debuted by Nicky Romero at Tomorrowland this past summer, the track has already started to gain popularity.

Calvin Harris & Dillon Francis – Here 2 China (feat. Dizzee Rascal) [RELEASE]

Calvin’s third studio album entitled “18 Months” has just been released and is already getting massive support from fans all over the world. Even though we have already been bumping the few singles on this album for a while, there are plenty of new tracks that provide a breathe of fresh air from the rest of the crappy electro pop we are used to hearing nowadays. My personal favorite new tune from the album is his collabo with Dillon Francis & Dizzee Rascal. “Here 2 China” features all of the signature melodies from the respective artists and was executed to perfection. Let me know what you think of it and be sure to grab “18 Months” on iTunes or Spotify. ENJOY!!

Calvin Harris feat. Florence Welch – Sweet Nothing (Tiësto Remix) [RELEASE]

Tiesto has conquered nearly every feat in the EDM industry, so it’s always tough to put your finger on what he will do next. This remix for instance seemed to be somewhat of a surprise to most people as he has been on more of an upbeat production rampage, as of recently, putting out bangers such as “Hell Yeah”. Despite the change of pace Tiesto always manages to perfect his productions and hardly ever disappoints, which is how he manages to be the number 1 DJ and Producer in the industry. Gotta appreciate the man’s attentiveness and energy always keeping his music two steps ahead of everyone else. This remix somewhat reminds me of his original production “Chasing Summers” in that there are essentially two main bass lines that are interchanged throughout both songs, one electro and one progressive, and they complement each other so well you hardly realize the distinction between the two. It’s complex detail in songs like these that keep the music fresh and dissimilar to those of other EDM artists.

Calvin Harris ft. Florence Welch – Sweet Nothing (Original Mix) [PREVIEW]

Calvin Harris, longtime EDM producer has announced the release of his new album entitled “18 Months”. The new album will feature his recent productions such as “Let’s Go” and “We Will Be Coming Back” (etc.), unreleased tracks such as “Iron” with Nicky Romero, as well as 4 unnamed tracks with artists such as Dillon Francis, and Elie Goulding. Another original track that will be released before the album drops is a slightly electric progressive track with lyrics by Florence Welch, entitled “Sweet Nothing”. This new track incorporates some of Calvin’s most recent melodic electric sounds, but are on a progressive track for a change. As of recent Calvin has been on a bit of an electro binge, but this track is a slight change of pace. Loving this track, I just don’t know how it would be incorporated into a typical Calvin Harris set. “Sweet Nothing” is set to drop October 14th.

Calvin Harris Ft. Example – We’ll Be Coming Back (R3HAB Remixes) [RELEASE]

I can easily say that R3hab has become one of my favorite house music producers, and potentially one of the top producers/performers in the world. When he first hit the scene, some years back he was labeled as “Afrojack’s prodigy”, these days thats obviously no longer the case…. R3hab has established a strong following and fan base by constantly incorporating  a wild drop and and loud synth-like bass line, while simultaneously managing to keep each and every track different from the previous. That type of differentiation is hard to come by these days, when nearly every house track sounds the same. R3hab’s ability to remix tracks other artists veer away from sets him aside from others and is what makes him unique. His set at EDC NYC last month was one of the best I had heard throughout the festival, and really showcased his growth throughout these past couple of years. This particular remix is a testament to his ability, and exceptionally  distinctive taste, a track that he transformed from originally being somewhat dry and mellow, to loud and exciting! Enjoy!

Florence & The Machine – Spectrum (Calvin Harris Mix) [PREVIEW]

This track takes me back to the old days of Calvin Harris when he would remix songs by artists such as the ting tings, or perform live on an electronic piano while singing in front of thousands of fans. Now-a-days everything seems so cut and dry, theres no more unique artistry or live musical talent (aside from spinning) at raves to liven shit up. I don’t think we’ll see Calvin on an electronic piano anytime soon, but he does seem to be getting back to his classic musical taste with this one. Calvin Harris seems to have developed his love and ear for music further throughout the past couple years, and gained a larger appreciation for electro as well as many other genres. When he performs live there is no telling what he is going to drop. But it’s a relief to know he is still producing feel good tracks like this, that set him aside from everyone else in the industry.

Calvin Harris Ft. Ne-Yo – Let’s Go (Quintino Bootleg)[RELEASE]

Quintino has made a lot of progress since his first step on the house music scene in 2009 when he released his infamous track “rap de armas”. Ever since then he has moved into a slightly more electro based type of music producing tracks such as “Selecta” and working with big name artists like Afrojack. Quintino is one artist we have had our eyes on for a while and can expect a lot from in the future. This is his take on Calvin Harris’s collaboration with Ne-Yo “Let’s Go” I think Quintino added the perfect amount of banger to this one give it a listen!

Scissor Sisters – Only The Horses (Calvin Harris Remix) [RELEASE]

Calvin really goes back to his roots with this remix of Scissor Sister’s “Only The Horses”! This track reminds me of his original productions like “The Rain” but also incorporates his new knack for electro with a couple of the buildups. I’ve been slowly moving out of progressive and further into electro and more electronic based house, but this one is pulling me back in. It didn’t seem like people really took a liking to his recent track with Ne-Yo “Let’s Go” even though I thought it was a smash, let me know what you guys think about this one. Gotta love the Calvin!!!

Calvin Harris Ft. Ne-Yo – Let’s Go [RELEASE]

Calvin Harris is arguably one of the most musically gifted producers in the world. He has just put out some radio teasers of his new banger “Let’s Go” on Pete Tong’s essential mix, as well as a couple of other on air shows. Recently it seems like sir Calvin is establishing his electro groove, rather than what we are normally used to from him. With tracks like Awooga, and this new preview it seems Calvin is moving out of his usual comfort zone and working more with synth and electro beats. This new track sounds like a banger and within the next couple of months I’m sure its really gonna pop! Love hearing new productions from Calvin he never ceases to impress, and always changes it up. So with no further or due, enjoy Calvin’s new track with Ne-Yo called “Let’s Go”!

WE FOUND LOVE – THE REMIXES

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tg00YEETFzg&w=560&h=315]

After releasing the anticipated official music video to “We Found Love” from Rihanna and Calvin Harris, a pair of remixes were released by R3hab and Chuckie. Now 9 times out of 10 Chuckie is going to beat R3hab if they would each remix a song but this time it looks like R3habs version is just a massssive banger. Although some might see his style as annoying I kind of like this dub. Chuckie goes for a more chill banging remix. Let me know which one you like better. ENJOY!

He created disco just incase you were wondering

Sir Calvin Fucking Harris is my favorite musician in the world, so when he drops a new song, like this one he delivered at EDC you know its a huge deal. His style and flow are unlike that of any other producer in the industry, not to mention the fact that he sings and produces his own songs like this one called “Feel So Close”. This track is very unique and different from what were used to from Calvin, it has a lot of guitar and  rock theme to it but still maintains Calvin’s steady electro beat. I had the pleasure of meeting Calvin a couple weeks back at Southpointe, Southampton, before he tore it up, and this guy knows how to kill it no matter where he is, club or rave Calvin always gets it popping, look forward to hearing alot of this one in the future.
