That time of year where everyone has their night decided over months in advance, or is scrambling for last minute plans, New Year’s Eve is always a special time for nightlife around the globe. Here in New York, we had the pleasure of attending one of NYC’s best venues in Pier 94 for Alesso’s Uprising Tour.  Accompanying the head honcho were performances by Don Dibalo, Deniz Koyu and Clockwork. When one of dance music’s biggest names takes on the big apple you know you’re in for a treat.

Alesso: Uprising @ Pier 94 NYC for NYE (12.31.13) [Event]

20131227-185317.jpgIf you’ve purchased a ticket to Pier 94′s New Year’s Eve special, you are in for a big treat. With Avicii and Afrojack ringing in 2012 and 2013, respectively, Alesso is here to close out this year and send us in to 2014 on a high note. Alesso won’t be alone, and he will be bringing a long an all-star cast to co-star this production. With Don diablo, Deniz Koyu, and Clockwork on the bill, pier 94 will surely be rocking all night long into the early hours of the morning.

Don Diablo is certainly a name for you to note, as he’s had an excellent second half of 2013 with the very popular Axtone hit ‘Starlight’. The next act, Deniz Koyu, will be playing at his second straight NYE show in NYC, but this time in one of Manhattan’s biggest venues. Playing many times in the Empire State, Koyu is certainly an fan favorite here. Perhaps what mixes this bunch up the most is Clockwork. Known for his extremely creative mashups, Mr. Steinway is one of the more diverse artists out there, and we are hoping to hear some beats associated with his “RL Grime” moniker as well.

As your main headliner for the night, all eyes will be on Alesso when he takes the stage. The “pretty boy” has come along way since pairing up with Sebasitan Ingrosso on the monstrous ‘Calling’, and in just a couple years he’s become the main attraction on NYE in NYC. We’ve been a big supporter of Alessandro since his first Electric Zoo, and he has never disappointed the NY faithful with past mind-blowing performances at EDC and Governor’s Island. Tickets are still available for purchase. Get yours now before it’s too late and hope to see you there!

Jack Beats Remixed, Vol. II [Release]

8050263

After quite a performance over at the Hilltop Arena during Electric Zoo 2013 just a few weeks ago, Jack Beats has released their second volume of remixes by some of the most eclectic producers in the EDM game to date. First up, A-Trak’s remix of “Just The Beat”. The Canadian Wonder’s efforts are guided by a dark, electronica style that will have your body moving nonstop. Next, UZ gives the classic “Get Down” a brand-new, trap twist. Finally, remix specialist Clockwork puts his touch on “War” by adding his signature electro sound to the distinct vocals of Example. All three edits bring something different to the table, which is what makes this remix package an instant grab. Released via Skrillex’s OWSLA label, get yours today via Beatport.

After the (unnecessary) vocal mix to “Reload” was released, it’s about time another artist came out with a remix. Insert Clockwork, the 22-year-old known for his rather crafty mashup and remix skills, as well as the ability to turn on his dark alter-ego, RL Grime, which showcases his banging trap productions. This banging remix to Tommy Trash and Ingrosso’s ‘Reload’ was premiered by Clockwork in his EDC LV 2013 set and will be out soon. Stay tuned!

Clockwork – Surge (EP) [Release]

Clockwork is one of the most interesting and influential producers in the EDM industry to date. His ability to thrive in multiple genres of EDM simultaneously is absolutely baffling. Under the alias, “RL Grime” he nearly monopolizes the trap genre with his various remixes, and production, while at the opposite end of the spectrum he is able to maintain what has become the house hold name, Clockwork. His accomplishments are extremely impressive, and he always seems to be busy with one title or the other. His newest EP entitled “Surge” is scheduled to be released February 12th via Dim Mak Records, so make sure to check back with us. The EP is composed of an original production called “Tremor” as well as a collaboration with Ms.Wynter Gordon.

Autoerotique – Roll The Drums (Clockwork Remix) [RELEASE]

Recently it seems like progressive house music seems to be on the decline, constantly being criticized by fans of house music and EDM alike. As a result a somewhat new, unnamed genre of EDM has risen to the surface, and is quickly gaining popularity. It perfectly combines the intensity, drops and build ups of electro house tracks as well as more mellow beats and lyrics you would typically find on an average progressive track. Clockwork’s remix of “Roll The Drums” by Autoerotique serves as a perfect example of this unidentified genre, and wow is it a fucking banger! This kid has some serious talent, his recent collaboration with A-Trak on Zedd’s “Spectrum” is also an extremely noteworthy single for the young producer coming out of Los Angeles.

Zedd feat Matthew Koma – Spectrum (A-Trak & Clockwork Remix) [RELEASE]

So I don’t need to remind you about A-Trak’s recent success in the past couple of months in producing electro house, as his remixes of Justice’s “New Lands”, and Martin Solveig’s “The Night Out” speak for themselves. However It seems like the extremely experienced Montreal born, producer/DJ has decided to kick it up a notch and team up with American producer, Clockwork to create this remix of Zedd’s “Spectrum”. The track possesses somewhat of a progressive vibe to it, with a electro-synth type drop. This remix shares some similarities with A-Trak’s recent work, however clockworks contribution, as well as Zedds original production, help this one stand out and make it different than what we are used to from A-Trak. This track is set to be released on July 31st along with the rest of the remixes on the Spectrum EP, however we have an early release for you guys, enjoy!
