DJ Fresh Vs Diplo – Earthquake [Preview]
Diplo & DJ Fresh team up to deliver a massive trap infused banger in “Earthquake”, originally debuted on GTA’s “Death To Genres Vol. 1.” Diplo seems to have developed a particular knack for trap music and has been utilizing it as of recently. This tune has some real fire power, and the Dominique Young Unique samples really accentuate the already incredible bass-line. This will be DJ Fresh’s first single of his new album and is also featured in the soundtrack for Kickass 2 this coming summer.

Waka Flocka Flame To Collaborate with Skrillex, Diplo, Flosstradamus and more on ‘EDM Rap Album’ [News]
Rapper Waka Flocka Flame, proclaimed himself as “The King of Rap EDM” during an interview with website Hip Hop DX last week. The Atlanta rap star plans to collaborate with artists such as Diplo, Skrillex and Flosstradamus amongst others. After experiencing some EDM during a trip to the South By South West event in Austin, Texas during this past March seems to have had an affect on the hip-hop icon.
“The Southby experience (SXSW), it was all EDM…Trap music. I went down there only for the ultra. That shit was crazy” said Flocka. When asked about his rumored EDM x Rap album, Waka responded by saying “It’s already in the motion. Flosstradamus, Diplo, Skrillex. Some underground people, too. I want to create a name. I’ve been doing it in hip-hop so long.”
It’s not quite clear as to when the so called “EDM Rap album” will be released, what it will be called, or who the proclaimed “underground people” are. However Flocka’s album “Flockaveli 2″ is scheduled to be released on October 5th of this year, no word on whether these EDM collaborations will be featured on it.

Finally, the moment us die-hard Diplo fans have been waiting for, the release of his newest EP. Since he had been teasing it way back in December, most of us have been itching to hear these tracks, which include collaborations with Datsik, Sabi, Elephant Man, GTA, Excision, Nicky Da B, LAzer Disk, and Billy The Gent. Just by naming the collaborations, it is easy to see that similar to most of his productions, Diplo went all out in terms of including interesting arrangements- bold, unique sounds that range from moombahton to electro, with vocals that range from reggae to rap. I know this is long overdue but “Get Free” from the (ex) duo made up of Diplo and Switch is truly a masterpiece. It just goes to show how diverse Diplo is as he goes progressive with unreal vocals from Amber, rather than his usual moombahouse. Included is a remix from WhatSoNot who add a crazy hard drop, and a vocal version of the remix by Trotta, a new and upcoming rapper who just happens to be my younger brother.
