UMF 15: Exploring Beyond The Main Stage [Review]

4-Major-Lazer12While Ultra Music Festival stacks its main stage with the elite producers in the dance music industry, every year features new sets performed at their other respective stages that truly highlight the essence of an individual’s UMF experience. Last year, I had finally popped my UMF cherry and this year I made a promise to look beyond the main stage and explore the rest of the new stages that had been prepared. The execs at Ultra made that easy with the schedules they generated. I was able to attend both weekends, and write about which sets away from the main stage had the greatest effect on my Ultra Music Festival 2013 experience.

Ferry Corsten – Silfra (Radio Edit) [Release]

Trance man Ferry Corsten is giving away his new track “Silfra” off his new compilation, Once Upon a Night Vol. 3. Inspired by a trip to Iceland,  the dutchman creates a mellow tune with peaceful riffs that can almost take you into paradise. The snare drums sound like classic Ferry, and he mixes in melodies that gives the track a very emotional feel. The free download is Ferry’s appreciation to all his fans, so keep on showing support with his new releases and be sure to grab his newest compilation, Once Upon a Night Vol. 3.

Markus Schulz vs Ferry Corsten – Loops & Tings (Extended Mix) [RELEASE]

If trance music is your thing (although I don’t see how it couldn’t be), this post is for you. Two of the trance realms well respected and undoubtedly talented producers come together to remake a track originally released in 1993 by Jens. The track builds up with an intricately heavy sound, followed by classic trancey chords at the 2:40 mark. This part of the song has the ability to take one on a euphoric journey up until it drops, and suddenly there’s an overwhelming urge to stand up and dance to the trippy, dark, pounding beat. The entire song is a journey itself, as Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz remake it to perfection. It’s no wonder that DJs are playing this track relentlessly at festivals such as EDC and more. Enjoy!

Ferry Corsten ft. Aruna – Live Forever [PREVIEW]

Ferry Corsten just put up the preview to his 5th single on the up and coming WKND album and it looks like I am getting back into some good old fashioned prog house. With beautiful vocals from Anjunabeat star Aruna and Ferry Corsten’s quality of production, you can expect a big time release coming May 14h. Also included is a preview to a remix from one of my favorite’s in Michael Woods. He kills it as usual so stay tuned for the release of both of these hits.

“Flashover Recordings” just released a Bassjackers remix to the trance head Ferry Corstens “Check it out.” This ones got it all. From a progressive trance like buildup to a signature Bassjacker harddd fucking drop. Enjoy!

This Feeling (Marco V Remix) - Trevor Castillo – One of the better bonuses I have ever posted. Catchy “Fight the Feeling” vocals and a funky ass drop make this one a must download.

Ferry Corsten comes out with amazing new fix to Moby’s “After.” Since Moby and Ferry are arguably the two biggest and most influential producers to Trance music as whole to date; I felt they needed some bleedhouse love. Ferry takes Moby’s original and gives it new life. If you love these two artists and their movement as much as I do you will really appreciate this track. A MUST download, and make sure you listen from the start till the finish because this one is truly a masterpiece. Let me know what you think!
