Michael Woods – Ctrl+Alt+Delete (EP) [Release]

After stirring up some drama in South Korea between his manager and Justin Bieber because he wouldn’t fulfill Bieber’s hip-hop request, English producer Michael Woods is back with some fresh new original work. After some fine tuning of a few songs he has been using in his sets, he is releasing a 3-track EP titled “Ctrl+Alt+Delete.” This brilliant 3-track EP is definitely rings true to Michael Woods’ classic progressive/tech house style, and we love his creative new approach to the titles and flowing combinations of the songs. We admire Michael Woods for staying true to his style, while being innovative and unique. Ctrl+Alt+Delete is now available via Beatport on his own label, Diffused Records.

Pier of Fear NYC feat. Calvin Harris, R3hab & Michael Woods (10.26.13) [Review]

With the sudden news that Laidback Luke’s “Super You & Me” would have to be cancelled due to permit issues, the Pier of Fear’s first weekend was left with a lone Saturday night show featuring the likes of EDM heavy hitters in Calvin Harris, DJ R3hab, and Michael Woods.  While it was certainly a bump in the road, the massive performance’s certainly lived up to the hype bringing us a weekend full of astounding beats. Halloween weekend brings out the inner crazy in New York natives and it was in fully display during the Pier of Fear weekend with a perfect opening headliner in Calvin Harris to run the show.

Pier of Fear NYC: Calvin Harris with R3hab & Michael Woods (10.26.13) [Event + Giveaway]

With the 2 weekend, Halloween blow out at Pier 94, there are a bevy of events you can wear your Halloween costumes to. During the first weekend, an all-star lineup of Calvin Harris, R3hab, and Michael woods will be taking over the Pier of Fear on Saturday night, October 26th. Vaulted into the top 15 of this year’s DJ Mag Top 100, all eyes will be on Calvin Harris. His last album, ’18 Months’, gained worldwide success, and only added to the Scotsman’s highly-acclaimed repertoire.

R3hab has been the face of ‘Life In Color’ as of late, and his most recent collaboration with Nervo & Ummet Ozcan, ‘Revolution’ is absolute fire. R3hab’s last visit to Pier 94 was for Jacked NYE, and if this performance is anything like that last one, we’re all in for a treat. But let’s not forget about Michael Woods, who most recently was in the headlines due to a scuffle with Justin Bieber. I don’t think anyone will complain about his music selection this time, as Woods always plays a killer set at any NYC venue.

Just the second of five shows that will be at the Pier of Fear, we expect this one to bring down the house, and we cannot wait. Tickets are still available here. With the early bird, pre-sale, and first batch of GA tickets already sold out, be sure to hop on the final release while you still can!
P.S. – Thanks to our friends over at RPM, we will be hosting a ticket giveaway for you and a +1 to enjoy the likes of Calvin, R3hab and Michael Woods on Saturday night! Enter below and check your email to see if you get lucky by this Wednesday night at 10:00pm EST. Contestants must be of 18 years or older to participate. Good Luck!

Chris Lake & Michael Woods – Black Thong (Original Mix) [Release]

Chris Lake and Michael Woods are both underrated artists who have mastered the art of creativity in their respective productions. There is a lot of new Electronic music coming out in this day and age and both of these DJ’s have always been able to keep a distance from the mainstream. This collabo titled “Black Thong” will absolutely destroy crowds. This massive tune is just another example of how talented both Michael and Chris Lake are. Enjoy!

Dzeko & Torres, Jed Harper – Diamond Rings (Michael Woods Edit) [RELEASE]

Is there anyone in the game today that puts out better progressive BANGERS than Michael Woods? The englishman puts his spin on Dzeko & Torres “Diamond Ring” via Provoke and straight up kills it. From the fast paced drum filled buildup, to the progressive synths and chords, and all the way to the banging electro filled drop. Woods’ attention to detail in this edit shows why he is a fan favorite. His creativity and ability to fill a track with so much energy put him at the top. Let me know what you think of this remix and ENJOY!

Siege & Sem Thomasson – Balance (Original Mix + Michael Woods Remix) [RELEASE]

The Belgium EDM scene brings to us two talented producers that might be considered slightly under the radar: Sem Thomasson and Siege. Both have come out with great productions, however together, they seem to make an awesome team. Their new track “Balance” is full of energy and thumping basslines. I can only imagine what the buildup would do to a crowd at the 1 minute mark. Michael Woods also comes forth to bring us his own rendition of the track. HIs drop is a bit fuller and brings us more, however, I find myself liking the Belgium duo’s buildup a lot. What do you guys think? Feedback always appreciated :) Enjoy!

Cherry Cherry Boom Boom – Come Back From San Francisco (Michael Woods + Bassjackers Remixes) [RELEASE]

The Bassjackers and Michael Woods both know exactly how to produce high quality banging music. They are the type of DJ’s who you know will never give in to the mainstream, and if you have ever seen either perform then you were in for one hell of a treat. It just so happens that we have remixes from both the Bassjackers and Woods to Cherry Cherry Boom Boom’s “Come back from San Fransisco” I love both of these remixes as Woods uses hard hitting electro while the Bassjackers take has more of a dub, wobble and grungy feel. Let me know which remix you prefer.

Marina and The Diamonds – Power & Control (Michael Woods Remix) [RELEASE]

It’s not every day you hear a new production from  Michael Woods but when you do it’s almost always a banger. This track is somewhat different from his original productions which are typically more electro based with huge buildups and epic drops, where as this remix has somewhat of a progressive flow but just as amazing. His track “Full Access” is a perfect example of his production style and usual festival appropriate tracks. I like that Woods choses to remix songs that sound so different from his original productions, it shows his versatility and ability to grow as a producer. Now this track doesn’t seem to have the signature Michael Woods build up and drop, but it definitely maintains his ability to put together a catchy beat and incorporates the funky sounds we seem to love in his tracks. Loving this track let me know what you guys think!

Banger Special!

To get the rest of your week going on the right foot, here’s an awesome banger special for you guys. First up is a Dmitry KO track, “I Need That”. Following a piano buildup, the track drops  hard and heavy at 1:30, so get ready to jump out of your seats. Next is a Michael Woods track, one of my favorite producers in the game, mostly because he is constantly pumping out new and different sounds. I am also posting a remix by Sharkslayer, an artist that I am not familiar with but could definitely get used to. When I first heard the track, the nutty drop reminded me of Diplo, a must download. Next,  a track that has previously been remixed by Clockwork, “Hook”. This Ido Shoam remix was definitely missed by most people, at the 1:30 mark the drop is absolutely massive. Finally, for you tech-heads, I have a Koen Groeneveld track called “Birdstrike”, a trippy tune that I could imagine satisfying late night Pacha goers, especially at the 4:30 mark. Download each track and enjoy!

Ferry Corsten ft. Aruna – Live Forever [PREVIEW]

Ferry Corsten just put up the preview to his 5th single on the up and coming WKND album and it looks like I am getting back into some good old fashioned prog house. With beautiful vocals from Anjunabeat star Aruna and Ferry Corsten’s quality of production, you can expect a big time release coming May 14h. Also included is a preview to a remix from one of my favorite’s in Michael Woods. He kills it as usual so stay tuned for the release of both of these hits.

Tiesto & Mark Knight Feat. Dino – Beautiful World (Remixes) [RELEASE]

One of Tiesto’s all time great gems is his collaboration with Mark Knight in “Beautiful.” The preview to the remix from Laidback Luke has been floating around for a while now and now we finally have the release along with a remix from Michael Woods and more. This remix package is called the “Ecstasy Remixes” off of Toolroom Records. The Luke and Michael Woods remixes are my favorite of the few so enjoy these two releases and let me know which you prefer.

Michael Woods – Warrior (Original Mix) [RELEASE]

A new track from one of my favorite producers in the game today, the Englishman known as Michael Woods. Coming off the heals of big time tracks such as “Airborne” and “Shinjuku” Woods looks like he has finally found his signature as he move more towards a electro house feel and I am loving it. Warrior, (Warrior actually used to be Michael’s stage name nearly a decade ago) begins with a peaceful trance like melody and eventually hits you with a hard hitting dual electro drop. Michaels ability to keep the song creative throughout is what separates him from most producers you hear today. Let me know what you think!!!

Michael Woods – Airborne [RELEASE]

Michael Woods just continues to impress. After hearing some real detailed production in his latest banger “Shinjuku,” I knew this guy was for real. This man needs a main stage at one big event and I have no doubt that he would kill it. I’ll say it over and over because Woods has got a real bright future ahead of him. His newest project “Airborne” is another massive release via Diffused Music. ENJOY!!!

Mutate (Joker Incs Mutated Spaceman Bootleg) - Sidney Samson & Lil Jon - I hated the original by Sidney Samson but this bootleg combining Hardwell’s “Spaceman,” is a MASSIVE track. Must download material.

Everything (Marcel Woods Treatment) - Marcel Woods - Great buildup, catchy vocals,  and a powerful drop. Did you expect anything less from Marcel Woods?? I’m loving this new bomb, let me know what you think of it.

Rock n Roll (R3hab’s Ruby Skye Remix) - Porcelain Black & Lil Wayne - After remixing Porcelain Blacks “Naughty Naughty,” R3hab is back at it, this time giving out his take on Porcelain Black’s collabo with Lil Wayne called “Rock n Roll” for free! Classic R3hab dank right here.

Shinjuku (Michael Woods Remix) - Funkagenda - Michael Woods is one of my favorite producers in the game right now. Im telling you, give this man a main stage and he will kill it. Shinjuku is a wild track and proof of how well this DJ has been developing. ENJOY!!!

Ok I have no fucking idea what this tracks name is all about but I am a huge Michael Woods fan nonetheless so enjoy this new hard hitter from Woods. Its got all the essentials for electro fans including a prog. buildup with amazing synths all the way to the killer drop. Michael Woods had an amazing 2011 run putting out legendary music such as “First Aid” and “Bullet.” We can only hope that he has just as good a year. ENJOY!!

Ostbahnhof and Ugo Platana (Michael Woods Remix) – Evensong

No people this is not a Lady Gaga post but its as close as well ever fucking get. First an amazing banging new remix from Klosman to Gaga’s “Americano.” I HIGHLY recommend  you download this one. The frenchman goes hard on the drop and im sure you will like it as much as I do. The bonus is another great remix to “Black Jesus Amen Fashion,” by Michael Woods. This ones a bit more chill but still has a breathe taking drop. Let me know what you think!

The World…

The young giant continues to impress. This time Hardwell releases “The World,” a feel good track with a massive build up and climax. The song has a Hardwell signature feel to it and i’m sure you’ll notice it as well. “The World” is one of those progressive housers that makes you get up and dance nonstop. It was featured as #12 in the DMC Ibiza Buzz 40, of hottest tracks of this summer with early support from David Guetta, Tiesto, Markus Schulz, and Paul Oakenfold and  is another summer anthem set by Dutch producer.

The World (Original Mix) – Hardwell
