Thomas Gold @ Roseland Ballroom 1.26.13 [Review]

397511_10151194509616021_226431315_n-1

A few weekends back, we had the opportunity to head back to the ever popular, rave-ready Roseland Ballroom on Jan 26th to see NYC’s fan favorite Thomas Gold. We were just here a few months ago for the legendary performance by Eric Prydz, and we expected nothing less from Thomas Gold as he is known to always kill it in New York City were you can usually catch him spinning at Governors Island in the Summer or Pacha N. His opening acts consisted of Nari & Milani, Feenixpawl, Carl Louis & Martin Danielle.

Miike Snow – The Wave (Thomas Gold Remix) [RELEASE]

The last time we heard about the group Miike Snow it was for Dirty South’s incredible remix to their track Devil’s Work. This time, the indie group hit “The Wave” is remixed by non other than Thomas Gold. Coming off of Axwell’s Axtone Records, this progressive gem is a testament to how far Thomas Gold has come in his career. The Wave adds to a impressive repertoire of big beats for Gold including his other release off of Axtone “Sing2Me.” Let me know what you think about this track and ENJOY!!

Cosmic Opera @Hammerstein Ballroom, Featuring: Axwell, Thomas Gold, Deniz Koyu [REVIEW]

Cosmic Opera was arguably one of the most hyped up events in recent weeks. We were told we would see performers, 3D mapping, a storyline, and more. Did “The Cosmic Opera” live up to expectations? After attending both Thursday and Friday shows our crew had some mixed reviews. On both nights you could say the show was mediocre; The sound system was lacking serious volume and bass, not to mention the acrobatics and actor performances were not as amazing as I had expected coming in.

EYES WIDE OPEN [RELEASE]
Dirty South & Thomas Gold

After so much praise and success with their first collabo “Alive,” Dirty South, Thomas Gold, and Kate Elsworth are back at it. Coming off of Phazing Records comes the highly anticipated production: “Eyes Wide Open.” Although it would be very hot to top “Alive,” this is as close as it gets. With stunning vocals and a feel good drop, this progressive beat will certainly not disappoint. ENJOY!!!

Dirty South & Thomas Gold – Eyes Wide Open (PREVIEW)

Yesterday was a big day for BBC Radio 1 with Pete Tong, his first essential mix of the new year. Pete brought in the new year with a special over the phone guest Skrillex, and a world debut of Dirty South & Thomas Gold’s new track “Eyes Wide Open”. Their new track sounds very similar to their previous one and not nearly as good, but definitely a note worthy. Personally I prefer “Alive” to this preview because it was an original sound and something were not used to from either of the producers but it doesn’t seem like they’ve changed much on this track, give it a listen let us know what you think. “Eyes Wide Open” is to be released on January 23 by Phazing Records.

Thomas Gold puts out a free download for everyone with his remix to Adele’s “Someone Like You,” and somehow pulls of a solid remix to the slow vocals. I know im a little late on the release so here is a bonus DUB remix to rolling in the deep. If you know me you know im a dub fien so this satisfies my need for atleast one dub post a week. ENJOY!

Not only is the artwork for this track bugged out, but Dirty South and Thomas Gold (personally my favorite artist this year) might actually  be the best collaboration of artists yet to exist, this song truly couldn’t get any better, and i just dont have the words to describe it, amazing and trippy is as close as i can come to analyzing it, it seems like the official version will be out sometime soon but for now this Pete Tong radio rip will have to suffice

Straight Pacha June 24th INGROSSO / ALESSO

PACHA NYC was blown away last night as a house legend (Sebastian Ingrosso) and his prodigy (Alesso)  tore shit up and brought the roof down. This kid is doing a lot for such a new comer in the game  playing Pacha NYC and Provocateur  in the same night and killing both. I have always loved his remix of nillionare but since adopted by the swedish house mafia Alesso has taken his shit to another level, we can only wait and see what he produces in the future and many, many people are excited and confident in his abilities. Here are some tracks from last night i think you’ll love, and if you are in Vegas tonight go check this fucking kid out at the Wynn’s night club XS with Thomas Gold.

These are some of the crazy jams played last night enjoy they are all FIREEEE!!!!

Judas (Thomas Gold Remix)    – Hands down the craziest song of the night

One / The Moment    - Crazy fucking mash up between two of the greatest ragers of all time

Nadia Ali, Starkillers & Alex Kenji – Pressure (Alesso Remix)-  I am speechless when it comes to this song, this is where Alesso shows his true talent

Drop It Like It’s Hot (Alesso Remix) -This song is fucking incredible so many different styles to it theres no labeling a genre on this one

Alcoholic (Alesso Taking It Back Remix) - Love Tim Berg’s alcoholic but Alesso killed it on this one

Alesso – Dynamite (Original Mix) - WHOA
