Electric Daisy Carnival New York 2014 Lineup Revealed [News]

Less than an hour after Mysteryland uncovered the blanket, the lineup for EDC New York was revealed to the public. With even bigger names this year, EDC is making all efforts to trump Electric Zoo as the top festival in the tri-state area. While the zoo has some time to recruit, let’s break down what Insomniac Events has in store for Memorial Day weekend.

There are many familiar names in this year’s group. Superstars Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, and Steve Angello continue to remain faithful since the first edition back in 2012. And while those are some heavy hitters, Insomniac went above and beyond this year stealing Tiesto, Hardwell, Boys Noize, Krewella, Tommy Trash, and Sander van Doorn from Electric Zoo. We’re not sure as to how they managed to pull this one off, but the Randall’s Island faithful are surely in shock right now. With the move back to MetLife Stadium, and all this new added talent, EDC NY is rivaling Mysteryland USA for this coming Memorial Day Weekend. And as the ticket sales start flying, it’s decision time for all of you festival-goers. What’s it going to be? EDC NY or Mysterland USA?

Tiesto goes deep in latest Essential Mix (01.02.14)

If you were too distracted by a rather disappointing Super Bowl or this defiant snow storm, then it’s time to get your week going in the right direction. We can’t think of a better way to do that than by jamming out to Tiesto’s Essential Mix from this past weekend. His first such mix since 2005, dance music fans all across the world could not have been happier about his return to BBC Radio 1′s highly praised show.

With his name alone, Tiesto attracts a vast amount of anticipation and excitement, but this mix has all of us amazed as he chose to veer off the progressive path he has been on lately. Tijs decided to go straight deep house with this mix, and tells us in his introduction:

I’m mostly known for doing uplifting and epic DJ sets, but today, for essential mix, I made something special for you. I selected 24 of my favorite, chill out deep house tracks, so no uplifting Tiesto set today, but just my favorite songs I like to listen to when I want to chill out

We’ve seen Tiesto go deep in his own podcast these past few months, and with this most recent special, a trend has certainly developed. His career has been comprised of trance and progressive mastery, while establishing the brand that is Tiesto. Always finding a new way to impress us, we are eager to see what’s coming next from this dance music legend. Let us know what you think as he takes us one deeper and be sure to peep the track-list after the break.

John Legend – All Of Me (Tiesto Remix) [Release]

On his very own birthday, Tiesto has decided to give a present to his fans in the form of a free download; his new remix of John Legends’ “All Of Me.” Veering away from the “big room” house style, Tiesto transforms this beautiful song into a truly progressive house beauty. We love the track, and we wish you a very happy birthday, Tijs! You’ll have to enter your email address to download it for free here and enjoy.

Musical Freedom showcases the ‘Future Heroes’ in upcoming EP [Preview]

Handpicked by the legend himself, Tiesto has chosen 4 tracks by New York native Jus Jack, HIX, Kaaze, and TV Noise to be part of his “Future Heroes” EP series. Much respect to influential artists such as Tiesto, and Pete Tong with his “Future Stars” segment on his weekly radio show, who continue to supply us with the newest breakthrough tunes and introduce us to emerging talent in the electronic dance music scene. These four electro-house tracks are great “big room” selections, and I am sure we will be hearing more from these rising artists in the coming year. The complete EP will be released via Tiesto’s Musical Freedom label on January 20th.

Tiësto – Red Lights [Release]

After premiering just two weeks ago as a world exclusive on none other than Pete Tong’s Essential Selection weekly radio show, Tiesto has released the first single set to be released from his forthcoming album in 2014. After hearing his style become increasingly more “big room house” filled with minimal vocals and aggressive drops, this is a refreshing new single that draws us back to his older style of melodic vocals and synths from a few years past. Not anything quite like his old trance, but still a stellar tune that exemplifies what most mainstream progressive fans have come to know and love.

It seems as though the new year will bring him even more success as he continues touring, releasing more music his own label, Musical Freedom, including volume 3 of his Club Life compilation series and consistently releasing new remixes. After being rewarded the “Top 100 DJs Legend Award” in the 20th year of DJ Mag’s poll, there is no doubt that Tijs is still incredibly dominant and greatly influential in the dance music scene. Be sure to get your own copy of “Redlights” now via iTunes.

Tiesto premeries new alias ‘TST’ in his latest collabo feat. Alvaro [Preview]

Tiesto has come quite a long way to become one of the biggest names in the dance music industry. He’s been as big of a part of the dance music movement to America as much as anyone else. Going from the tiny 076 to the 212 and 305, we’ve witnessed a development of an icon and a brand. He started with trance, moved to progressive and electro, and now we have a somewhat extended alter-ego of the latter, evident in his new collaboration with Alvaro, “Out Of Control.” And as he went from different music, he went from DJ Tiesto to Tiesto, and now we are given his latest brand: TST. With TST, we get a big-room attitude. Yes, the one that absolutely shook North America this past year from Bayfront Park to Randall’s Island to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mr. Verwest continues to be a mentor to the young talent of the EDM game, and Alvaro is his latest student. The latest addition to the dutchman’s own Musical Freedom, this track is scheduled to be released this coming Monday so stay tuned.

Tiesto ft. Disco Fries – iTrance [Release]

Upon remaining in the top 5 of the DJ MAG Top 100, Tiesto also recently received KLM’s DJ Legend Award. As Tijs continues to rake in the memorabilia, he decided to give his fans a special treat by uploading a free download of his latest work, ‘iTrance’. Tiesto collaborates with the Disco Fries on this track to return to his trance roots. So for all you “Old Tiesto” fans out there, it’s time to walk the walk, as you are finally getting what you have craved for so long. Whether this a foreshadowing of the resurrection of ‘DJ Tiesto’ or not, remains to be seen. Nevertheless, bask in the sounds that originally made you fall in love with the Dutch superstar.

Tiësto – Diplo & Friends (09.21.13) [BBC Radio 1]

Tiesto finally graces us with his guest mix for Diplo & Friends on BBC Radio 1. Surpassingly the mix contains almost no trap but rather showcases Tiesto’s love for house. Dash Berlin’s remix to ‘City of Dreams’ and Nicky Romero’s ‘Jack To The Sound of the Underground’ are amongst plenty of massive hits in this mix (tracklist after the break), not to mention a new ID by Example and D.O.D.’s wild track in ‘Bananas’. Expect another big year for Tiesto as he continues to succeed as one of dance musics established stars.

Tiesto goes deep in the ‘Club Life After Hours’ radio show debut

Tiesto continues his dominance in dance music by diversifying and expanding his brand day by day. After blowing up in his early days producing trance, we have seen him cover all grounds including big room house, progressive, trap, and now showcasing his support deep house. After his “Club Life After Hours” radio show premiere we got to experience a ton of deep tunes from the likes of Allie Farbin, Tale Of US, Vanilla, and more. Peep the track-list after the break and enjoy the next two hours of musical abyss.

Ellie Goulding – Burn (Tiesto Remix) [Preview]

Earlier this month, Tiesto had reached out to Ellie Goulding in regards to remixing her song in “Burn.” Ellie was more than happy and grateful to let the master get to work and in less than two weeks, Tiesto delivers with a mellow progressive gem. This remix won’t have you raging but it could get you to shed a tear or two. Personally loving Tiesto reaching out of his comfort zone to produce beautiful music and we look forward to more from arguably the biggest name in dance music to date in Tiesto.

Tiësto & DJ Punish – Shocker [Preview]

Tiesto has teamed up with DJ Punish to preview the latest production off of his own Musical Freedom Label. “Shocker” goes back to the banging Tiesto house that most of his fans have come to know and love. This is another track rumored to be on his Club Life: Volume 3 Stockholm album as well. Check back on June 11th for more Tiesto releases including his collaborations with Dyro and MOTI

Showtek & Noisecontrollers – Get Loose (Incl. Tiesto Remix) [Preview]

artworks-000045256086-8h9xs4-originalShowtek is back at again coming off their extremely successful track “Slowdown” which is currently #4 on BeatPort to join forces with fellow Dutchman Bas Oskam and Arjan Terpstra AKA Noisecontrollers. They have just released their final preview to their hard style banger “Get Loose” via OWLSA. This ferocious track starts us off with a fast paced, suspenseful build up that drops into a merciless cluster of deranged horns and a second dub filled drop towards the end. “Get Loose” is as lawless as it gets and will certainly do damage in any set. Also included is a preview of Tiesto’s take on the track which he dropped at this past UMF. Check back with us on April 16th for the full release!

Dada Life – So Young So High (Tiësto Remix) [Release]

artworks-000041916838-lyivdr-largeThe legend Tiësto has decided to give his take on Dada Life’s ever so popular “So Young So High.” The track starts with the same feel and intro as the original and turns into a huge build for what is a MASSIVE signature Tiesto drop. You can bet to hear this at a festival near you as it is bound to destroy dance floors. Grab it on BeatPort and get pumped for a week full of surprises from Tiesto at Miami Music week at WMC this year.

Zedd ft. Foxes – Clarity (Tiesto Remix) [Release]

Zedd’s “Clarity” has propelled the artist to new heights and has become one of those tunes that can stay on repeat all day long. Tiesto not only gives us his take on the tune, but manages to show us a polar opposite side to a track previously unimaginable. Cue in the beautiful voice of Foxes with the original beat. That comes to a halt when Tiesto smacks you in the face with a monstrous, bass-heavy drop turning this rather emotionally uplifting song into a banger that will send a crowd into hysteria.

Passion Pit – Carried Away (Tiesto Remix) [Release]

As we all know superstar DJ/Producer Tiesto loves making his own adjustments to songs of all genres and styles. The dutch musical genius has experience fine tuning and adjusted from Kanye West’s “Lost In The World” all the way to Coldplay’s “Paradise” and everything in between, so his latest remix comes as no surprise to his fans. This remix of Passion Pit’s “Carried Away” is a lot more simple than his typical remixes, a mellow progressive single that really accentuates  the vocals of the original track.

Tiesto & Allure – Pair of Dice (Original Mix) [PREVIEW]

“Pair of Dice” is a new collaboration between EDM superstar, Tiesto and a new artist on his label (Musical Freedom) named Allure. The track is completely different than the upbeat, hard hitting electro we have become accustom to from Tiesto this past year. Rather it brings back the nostalgia of his old school progressive/trance like beats we were used to before he ventured into the world of electro. Not quite sure how this would fit into a modern day Tiesto set but i’m looking forward to seeing it pulled off. What better way to introduce a new face on your label than creating an original production with him? “Pair of Dice” is set to drop via Musical Freedom October 8th so check back!

Calvin Harris feat. Florence Welch – Sweet Nothing (Tiësto Remix) [RELEASE]

Tiesto has conquered nearly every feat in the EDM industry, so it’s always tough to put your finger on what he will do next. This remix for instance seemed to be somewhat of a surprise to most people as he has been on more of an upbeat production rampage, as of recently, putting out bangers such as “Hell Yeah”. Despite the change of pace Tiesto always manages to perfect his productions and hardly ever disappoints, which is how he manages to be the number 1 DJ and Producer in the industry. Gotta appreciate the man’s attentiveness and energy always keeping his music two steps ahead of everyone else. This remix somewhat reminds me of his original production “Chasing Summers” in that there are essentially two main bass lines that are interchanged throughout both songs, one electro and one progressive, and they complement each other so well you hardly realize the distinction between the two. It’s complex detail in songs like these that keep the music fresh and dissimilar to those of other EDM artists.

Tiesto & Showtek – Hell Yeah! [RELEASE]

First heard this bomb at UMF 2012 during Tiesto’s massive set, and right away I made a note to put this up at release. “Hell Yeah!” is Tiestos newest production along with Showtek via Musical Freedom. First it begins with some dutch like sounds, and eventually hits you with a hard hitting acidic drop. As the track goes on the drop only gets harder and filled with more electro. This track is further proof as to how Tiesto is dominating the ga,e. Everything he touches turns into gold and Hell Yeah does not dissapoint. Let me know what you think and ENJOY!!

Kanye West – Lost In The World (Tiesto Remix) [PREVIEW]

I can honestly say that I have never been so happy to hear a remix of a track until this moment. Two of my favorite musical artists, the number 1 DJ in the world – Tiesto remixing his hip/hop equivalent Mr.Kanye West’s track “Lost In The World” to create this monster of a track. I hoped this day would come but had no idea the product would be this eargasmic, WOW! Can’t wait for the official drop of this one to come some time soon, for now we have a high quality rip for you guys, enjoy.

Tiesto & Mark Knight Feat. Dino – Beautiful World (Remixes) [RELEASE]

One of Tiesto’s all time great gems is his collaboration with Mark Knight in ”Beautiful.” The preview to the remix from Laidback Luke has been floating around for a while now and now we finally have the release along with a remix from Michael Woods and more. This remix package is called the “Ecstasy Remixes” off of Toolroom Records. The Luke and Michael Woods remixes are my favorite of the few so enjoy these two releases and let me know which you prefer.

Tiesto – Club Life Vol. 2 Miami (New Tracks)

We received a leaked package with all of the top tracks off of Tiesto’s Club Life Volume Two – Miami, about 30 minutes ago and I think it’s safe to say we have never been more excited to throw something on the site until this came along. This volume was a compilation of the best and most awaited tracks following WMC and Ultra just a couple of weeks ago. After seeing Tiesto show case these tracks at his performances, and then preview Club Life as one whole mix there is nothing more that I wanted than to be able to get my hands on every one of these songs. If you can’t understand why this man is the number 1 DJ in the world after this your delusional. This man is a musical genius and I’m extremely excited to see what his next move is! So sit back, throw your head phones on, and enter musical euphoria, and remember where you heard it first!

Tiësto & Swanky Tunes – Make Some Noise (Original Mix) [PREVIEW]

The trio made up of Vadim, Dmitry and Stanislav have been trying to make their mark on the electro house game. The Swanky Tunes have put out some great remixes such as to Kaskade’s “Eyes” and “Maximal Crazy.” This time it looks like they have taken their production game to another level by collaborating with the one and only Tiesto. This electro banger was dropped many times during Miami’s Winter Music Conference, and we have got the exclusive download just for you guys as it is also featured on Tiesto’s Club Life vol 2. Miami. Let me know what you think!!
